Holbeck Pavilion
2007-on going

Holbeck Pavilion
Holbeck Pavilion is the development of a sculptural language that can be used to make temporary structures for events and promotion. This is made up of configurations of images on light boxes and light tubes on architectural forms that can be programmed, or will respond to music inputs. These 3D sketches have been developed with a community gala in mind - where the perimeter lighbox advertisements are held in a conversation with the central community stage.
The idea has evolved out of a period of making work in and about Holbeck (an inner-city residential area of Leeds) and can be seen as a re-working of the original Apollo Pavilion by Victor Pasmore - an abstract modernist concrete sculpture/bridge in a Peterlee housing estate, County Durham.
